The Swinhoe's Pheasant, known for its striking blue feathers and captivating gestures, left a lasting impression on the designer when she encountered it in the mountains. Chen believes that these birds should be introduced to the world, while also raising awareness for the conservation of endemic species.
Using digital printing technology, the scarf accurately reproduces the colors and intricate details of the original artwork. The design is then printed on silk, resulting in a luxurious and high-quality product. With dimensions of 650mm x 650mm, the scarf provides ample space to showcase the intricate bird patterns.
Chen's creative process involved extensive research on the appearance of the Swinhoe's Pheasant, relying on photographs and the book "Wild Bird of Taiwan." The delicate illustrations capture the beauty of the animal, making the scarf a perfect souvenir for foreign friends and a testament to Taiwan's rich biodiversity.
Overcoming challenges in the conversion from paper sketches to digital files, Chen successfully preserved the original strokes and vibrant colors of the artwork. The result is a visually stunning scarf that celebrates the unique beauty of the Swinhoe's Pheasant.
This exceptional design, created between October 2019 and January 2020 in Taiwan, has received recognition in the form of the Iron A' Design Award in the Textile, Fabric, Textures, Patterns, and Cloth Design category. This prestigious award honors well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements, contributing to a better world.
